Attorney General Reveals Investigation into Trump Rivals and Jeffrey Epstein Links

On Friday, Pam Bondi assigned interim US attorney Jay Clayton to lead an investigation into political adversaries of Donald Trump and their relationships with the late financier. This decision came hours after Trump ordered her to launch the probe.

During an announcement, Bondi highlighted Jay Clayton as “a highly skilled and reliable legal expert”. The official stated, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”

This action seems to diverge from a July memo from federal authorities which declared that documents related to Epstein lacked grounds for further inquiries. According to the memo, investigators “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”

Trump Demands Focus on Democrats in the Epstein Case

The announcement coincides with increasing pressure from Trump on congressional Republicans to resist the public disclosure of files concerning Epstein before an key congressional decision in the coming days. Several lawmakers are expected to back the release.

Newly public communications from Jeffrey Epstein have highlighted Trump’s past involvement with the sex trafficker, revealing details that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.

That same day, Trump declared he would ask the DOJ to investigate Epstein’s ties with Democrats, specifically naming prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also referred to the “Epstein hoax” as a “scam”.
