British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

This update on his health comes as the boxing community offered sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
