Explore Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-loving heroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event held at NYCC. Is this a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful background. All items mentioned below releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into the many unique products and collections available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few surprising details. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak Attack, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu, in which players can cheat big creatures into the game field whenever an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a little (Sneak is treated as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that plane is it originated and it is iconic to that,” an experienced game designer explained. “However in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with unique artwork designed exclusively for the set by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play game cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet as per Wizards, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers state they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for over a year and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to make sure that they work well with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype focused on artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” the designer added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of only one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to popularity. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an extra 37 TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprints if we assume the deck includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil basic lands
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Foil promotional card
  • One Large life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
  • Five Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s basically a reprinted older card featuring brand-new TMNT artwork. The team showed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza. There are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is designed for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil basic lands (for building your deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • One Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to create Magic products aimed at new players. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.

The concept is that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creature cards included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
